We Have Every Piece To The Design Puzzle

Recently we teamed up with the Council on Aging in Springfield, Vermont to help them with a new brand. We helped them with the naming process, logo and website.

Their new name is Senior Solutions and they are a great organization that provides social services to people 60 years and older, their caregivers and families.

One of the things that makes us fun and easy to work with is that we have the diversity of abilities and experience to take on every aspect of a project—the naming, marketing plan, logo and print design, website design and programming, as well as the photography.

Check out SeniorSolutionsVT.org to see all that they do and their new logo and website!

Woodwardesign Is Buzzing

Woodwardesign is jamming this month with lots of great projects. Everyone is coming out of hibernation and is ready to start their design projects.

We have the much anticipated alumni magazine Potash Hill commencement issue for Marlboro college, a new logo and naming process for a local council on aging organization followed by a website, the course overview and Summer Abroad catalogs for the SIT Study Abroad, reunion brochures for Dartmouth College, websites for A’s Auto and Vermont Films, and the new collateral and website for Windham and Windsor Housing Trust. Whew!

We love when the warm weather rolls around and green grass and new jobs come up. Not to mention the four-day work week next week. Hope you have a great July 4th!

So Wytty

We are working with an exciting new company. They are smart and understand design. Funny and witty. Just the kind of client we love!

Adroyt is a new social media company that works with design companies all over the world to help them get their word out using social media platforms like Twitter and blogs.

They are savvy, know exactly what they are doing and already have some great clients—and are growing each day.

We were psyched to have the opportunity to work with them on their identity and be a part of such a successful company.

Here it is . . . drum roll . . .

This logo signifies the conversations that adroyt creates for their clients. The elements within the talk bubble illustrate the fact that their social media puts a human face on the company, and leads to dynamic and honest conversations.

They chose to set themselves apart with the different spelling of adroyt because their business is all about the why.

It's Like New Years Eve Up In Here

At Woodwardesign we like to celebrate things. A great meeting, a completion of a job, warm weather . . . you get the idea. Sometimes we do this with a bottle of champagne. Now we don’t booze it all the time but when it is warranted, we like to acknowledge a job well done. We also like to celebrate with our clients when a job has finished. This is often a lunch out.

Our latest celebration was for a logo presentation. We will show you that logo soon but for now it is top secret. The client loved all the concepts and is really excited about the final choice.

You will have to stay tuned to see the beautiful logo that deserved the clinking of glasses!

Celebrating a job well done keeps up morale and gives us a sense of accomplishment. How do you celebrate?

Better Than An IV Of Coffee

Meet the new member of the Woodwardesign team, Bean. We found Bean at the Brattleboro Food Co-op but he originally hails from Dean’s Beans.

He is a dark chocolate covered coffee bean. He adds a great amount of energy to the office when we feel a little sleepy. He makes us happy when we are blue and he makes us all talk a little faster.

He does have family, so if you are looking for someone to add to your office you can find them at the Co-op or at deansbeans.com.

Okay, we are gonna go run 30 laps around the track now.

With Peppers And Mushrooms And . . .

We have teamed up with a wood-fire pizza catering company named Rigani. We sat down with them to talk about the kind of feel they wanted and who their target audience is.

Fresh, approachable, and sophisticated are the words that were used to sum up Rigani. Our job was to turn those adjectives into a logo that represented them accurately.

We showed them eight concepts, each with a different personality that touched on an aspect of their business.

They narrowed it down to the top two and couldn't decide. Our next step in the logo process is to place the logos on something to show them in use. For Rigani we placed them on the side of a truck in a photo so they could envision what it would look like in real life. Once that was done the winner was chosen.

Ta Da!

Make sure the check their Facebook page out. www.facebook.com/Rigani-Wood-Fired-Pizza.

So what do you like on your pizza?

She Has A Cat Named Moo? Yeah, We're Sold

Artists get inspired in all sorts of ways. Magazines, fashion, news, life in general. Blogs are also a great way to get inspiration. They are a peak into someone's head. A blog can expose you to a world that you may never have known.

We stumbled upon a blog (speaking of stumbled upon, have you seen that site? stumbleupon.com) that is full of imagination and color. Whimsy and happiness. Just the kind of inspiration needed during the winter months. The blog is called Color Me Katie. Click on the links Paper and Street Art to see her creative work. It is sure to make you smile.

Hope this colors your winter blues.

Never Take The Top Off A Fast Food Hamburger

Presentation is everything. You know that when something is presented well and professionally, the assumption is that the company, product, or service is of good quality.

Having your design work done by a company who knows the elements of design, pays attention to detail, and takes the time to understand who you are and what your message needs to be is an investment that will pay rich dividends.

A great presentation gets you through the door and sets you apart from and ahead of the competition.

Which burger would you want representing you? Yeah . . . that's what we thought.

What We Do Works, For Real!

We often get told that our work is beautiful, creative and unique to the client. We get thank yous and develop friendships with our clients. We are told that they get a positive response from customers, students, etc. and our clients come back to us for future projects, and here, on bloggy, we have some hard evidence that what we do works. It was for the Marlboro College Graduate School logo, website, and marketing material. (You can check our work out here : www.gradschool.marlboro.edu)

Well here it is. CSI status. THE evidence:

Marlboro College Graduate School worked with Woodwardesign to re-brand its print and online materials. One of the primary goals of the new collateral was to drive more traffic to the web. In the 15-month time span following completion of the work, traffic to the web site from new visitors doubled; while both the fall 2010 and winter 2011 intakes experienced their best enrollments in 5 years.

“We conducted a lengthy RFP evaluation before ultimately selecting Woodward. We liked their aesthetic, we liked their process, and we just plain liked them.”

—Chris Lenois, Director of Marketing, Marlboro College

New Years Resolution

Here we are. A new year. The time when we all say, “I'm going to lose some weight,” “I’m going to get more organized.”. . . yada, yada, yada. Well, here at Woodwardesign, our new year’s resolution is to pay more attention to our neglected child . . . . our blog.

Poor blog . . . such a good little blog. So, THIS year we are going to blog more so we can keep in touch. Here it is. The first blog of the year. Enjoy, our friends!

Everyone around here has gotten the exercise bug. Jeff and Falyn have begun spinning and Carrie is now a certified Zumba instructor. It really has lifted the mood around the office. And we feel less guilty eating Twix bars.

We have teamed up with a few people who are into fitness as well.

We developed a new logo for Durga Fitness. Durga’s owner, Zephyr Soun, is a personal trainer who also teaches group bootcamp and spin classes. Durga means “the invincible one” and is depicted by a goddess. With this logo we created a goddess form with two different colors intertwining to represent the energy of trainer and client working together—something that’s a big part of Zephyr’s work.

You can check out the website we designed at www.durgafitness.com

Another company we paired up with was Sprockets Cycle Studio in Bellows Falls. Owner, Joanna Albright, already had a logo and color palette but needed a simple website.

We worked with their current look and budget and created an easy-to-navigate and attractive sight.

To see their whole site click sprocketscyclestudio.com.

Cheers to health and blogging!

Falyn, Carrie, and Jeff
